The Top New Craft Products from CHA - Mod Melts

Last month, for the first time, I got to attend CHA, the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show in Anaheim, Ca!! I roomed with my pal Jaderbomb and we had such a blast, checking out all the amazing new Craft Products that are coming out this year!  One of my favorite new products were these adorable Mod Melts by Cathie Filian and Steve Piacenza at the Plaid Booth!! You guys are going to LOVE these!!

These look so fun and easy, and if you read my blog, you know I love easy projects!! Anyway, Mod Melts sticks are a resin type material, that you put in your hot glue gun, and then then add to one of the Mod Melt molds. The sticks come in Opaque and Translucent (aka Milk Glass & Sea Glass). They harden with in minutes, and then you have a super cute embellishment to use in your projects!

And check out the adorable molds!!! There are some darling frames, flowers, birds and butterflies, and super cute Frenchy set, with a crown, bee, key etc. How fun!

Once you pop them out of the molds, you can color them with all kinds of different paints! This sample sheet showed everything from paint, to alcohol ink, to embossing powder, to nail polish! These will add some pizazz to any of your craft projects, like scrapbooking, jewelry making, or mixed media projects. I could also see them used in your Home Decor projects, wouldn't they be wonderful on napkin rings, votive holders, frames, or curtain tie backs?!! There not out yet, but watch for them to arrive in your favorite Craft Supply store this Spring!

I also got to hang out with Cathie and Steve quite a bit at the conference, they were just as fun in real life as they are on TV! Here's a photo of me and Cathie, with Andrea Currie (winner of TLC's Craft Wars). Andrea and I met online a long time ago, so it was fun to meet her in person finally!

Make sure you visit Cathie and Steve's Blog for more info on Mod Melts ...

as well as their other awesome products, like these Hot Glue Gun Helpers!

  9. Best thing about this is, we all have the "Guns" and now only need the sticks and a mold! It looks fun and I can't wait to try them out. I've enjoyed watching Steve and Kathy on TLC...I thought they were a married couple for a long time. Lol. TFS, Karen. You're one of my Fave Bloggers:)

  10. Like the other commenters I can hardly wait for these to come out. I remember watching Kathy and Steve on their show awhile ago. Do they still do a craft show? Used to love watching them, they made everything fun. The crafting world keeps getting smaller and smaller especially with the internet now. It's amazing what's out there, so glad you featured this today. Good to know about these. Good old Mod Podge huh? They keep on keeping on coming up with more useful and affordable products for crafters. Yeahoo. So glad to get to see this post.
