My Skincare Tips & a Giveaway!

People are often shocked when I tell them my age. Nobody ever guesses that I'm 50; they usually guess I'm in my 30s. And then they always ask, "What do you do?!"

This happens a lot at conferences especially... and for awhile now I've been thinking that I should write a few posts about my health and beauty routine. I have to admit I started taking care of my skin at a young age. When I was 11 years old, I decided it was time to take my skincare seriously. I remember asking my mother to order some skincare products that I found in a magazine. They shipped out monthly, and I used my allowance to pay for them. Now mind you, these were not for acne; they were moisturizers, moisturizing masks and such.  I was a strange kid, I know! While the other girls my age were playing with makeup, I was all about the skincare!

As a teenager I started using sunscreen on my face when I would tan. I actually started doing this because my body would tan, but my face would always burn and I didn't like the look of having a red face... it just didn't seem like an attractive look. At some point in my late 20s I realized the importance of applying sunscreen to my face every day, under my makeup. I still do that to this day and I think it's hugely important for anti-aging.

And I feel like my skin is firmer to the touch, too.
