People are often shocked when I tell them my age. Nobody ever guesses that I'm 50; they usually guess I'm in my 30s. And then they always ask, "What do you do?!"
This happens a lot at conferences especially... and for awhile now I've been thinking that I should write a few posts about my health and beauty routine. StriVectin asked me to be a part of their "Celebrate Healthy Skin" campaign, and I was happy to take part in it since I use their products anyway.
I have to admit I started taking care of my skin at a young age. When I was 11 years old, I decided it was time to take my skincare seriously. I remember asking my mother to order some skincare products that I found in a magazine. They shipped out monthly, and I used my allowance to pay for them. Now mind you, these were not for acne; they were moisturizers, moisturizing masks and such. I was a strange kid, I know! While the other girls my age were playing with makeup, I was all about the skincare!
As a teenager I started using sunscreen on my face when I would tan. I actually started doing this because my body would tan, but my face would always burn and I didn't like the look of having a red face... it just didn't seem like an attractive look. At some point in my late 20s I realized the importance of applying sunscreen to my face every day, under my makeup. I still do that to this day and I think it's hugely important for anti-aging.

I've tried many different brands of skincare products over the years, all sorts of various moisturizers and serums, day creams and night creams, lotions and potions, etc. Last summer I discovered StriVectin's line of products, including Strivectin-SD™ Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles. Only StriVectin formulas have a patented, clinically-proven NIA-114 molecule that powers up skin to help repair damage and fight off all visible signs of aging for a youthful look and feel. It's become a part of my everyday skin care routine and I'm hooked on this stuff! (Interested? Learn more about StriVectin on their website.)
I have very sensitive skin, particularly on my face, so I always patch test new products before trying them full on. It passed with flying colors! I have to say that I've never thought to try this for stretch marks, so I can't comment on that, but I'm really pleased with it as an anti-wrinkle product! This cream makes my skin feel so smooth and well... plumper to the touch, as if a little moisture has been pumped back into my cells! I also have noticed a minimizing of the lines on my face. Woohoo! And I feel like my skin is firmer to the touch, too.
As an added bonus the tube that it comes in is Ginormous and lasts a really long time! If I had a list of Favorite Things, like Oprah does, this would be on it!

this sounds like something I would like to try. I can use all the help I can find!
ReplyDeleteThe closer I get to fifty (she is knocking at the door!), the more I am interested in new products that really work!
ReplyDeleteOh the wrinkles are definitely creeping in around the eyes. I'd love to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteI'm a gardener, so I worry about wrinkles and sun damage. I try to always wear a hat, but would love to learn more about NIA-114 and to give Stri-Vectin a try.
ReplyDeleteSince I was one of the "I thought you were in your 30's".....I would love to try this product! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't mind a FEW wrinkles around my eyes (I like to laugh and smile a lot), I want my skin to glow!
ReplyDeleteWhat I have read is that it gives results like that of Botex. A cream that does the same thing that a needle and a large pocketbook did...Count me in on that.
ReplyDeleteKaren:
ReplyDeleteYou do look very young. I also use StriVectin and it does work! The cream decreases wrinkles.
I would love to give Stri-Vectin a try. I have been using some type of skin care since I was 19 and I also get comments on how I don't look my age.
ReplyDeleteI however have not been that happy with the products I've been using lately and am finding it hard to find some that work well without drying.
wow I would NEVER guess your age to be 50 either, you do look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you look! I'm almost 60 and dealing with wrinkles. I was a teenager in California and spent a lot of time at the Beach! (of course!) I'm very interested in StriVectin now, because I never heard of it before! I'm most interested in dealing with facial wrinkles!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info and this giveaway!

I'm very interested in how this would work for me since I also have rosacea. I would love to try it out. Thanks for offering the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe your 50, you look so young! I've been curious about strivectin, but was hesitant to purchase it. Their are so many skin care products it get's a little overwhelming, but after reading your post I would love to try it!
ReplyDeleteI have a few months until the big 5-0! I ran out of my usual lotion this weekend & something stopped me from buying it! I am going to try StriVectin!! Thanks for the give away! I am also starting a new job on Mon 3/4. Need to look my best!!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that it actually increases the thickness of the skin which I've noticed really does thin out with age. Count me in and thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try it for the wrinkle reducing claims...
ReplyDeleteI gained a lot of weight with my 3 pregnancies so I have a lot of stretch marks. I'd be interested in seeing how this ingredient treats stretch marks.

ReplyDeleteI like the gentle, continual exfoliation the NIA-114 does to the skin. It's easier on the skin
for those like me with sensitive skin and who cannot use harsher chemical exfoliants. Softens lines
and clarifies the skin.

Wow! That makes me want to give Strivectin a try! I've heard wonderful things about their neck cream, too!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this product out, too. I am a few years older than you and get similar comments but the youthful looks are only going to hold out for so long! It's so hard to find products that work.

ReplyDeleteKaren, I'd love to try strivecten because I am super sensitive, as you say you are, and so many products make my skin red and burn. This could be a real godsend.
ReplyDeleteSeems there are a lot of us gals in our 50s with sensitive skin. Who among us wouldn't like to look a little bit younger (ie more like Karen!)? I'd prefer to win, but at any rate, Strivecten will be the next new face-care product I use! Thanks for the sensational review!!!
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I would love to try this!!! Thank you so much for the chance! I have thought about trying it, but wasn't sure how well it worked...now seeing how great you look ~ I REALLY want to try it!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI am way older, so I need it worse than you young people, heck it scares me every-time I look into the mirror!
ReplyDeleteI love how it is supposed to repair damage....interested to see if it would do that for my sun damaged skin and for my surgery scar.
ReplyDeletecgies25 at homtail
I would love to have smooth and firmer skin! By the way, you look great!
ReplyDeleteI am interested in the damage repair. I have a spot on my lower jaw from an injury that every time I look in the mirror, I just focus in on that spot.
ReplyDeleteI am interested in having it help diminish the appearance of fine lines around my eyes.

I have wanted to try this for so long. I would love to try it for wrinkles on my neck and also age spots. I spent too much time in the sun growing up and have the skin to prove it. You were so smart to start a skin care regimen at a young age. Thanks for the giveaway!

YIKES!! Age spots and wrinkles--suddenly I'm noticing them everywhere on my face! I've heard of Strivectan, but there are so many confusing choices out there that I haven't tried it. Thanks for the personal review; now I'd love to try it!
ReplyDeletei would be very interested to know what the magic is in niacin.. sounds like it is a good product. i wouldve never thought niacin would be a key player in skin care.. im over 50...by a few. ok closer to the other end. lol sounds like its got some powerful stuff in it. i would really love to try this. you look FANTASTIC. REALLY YOU DO. i never would've thought you were 50. 30's yea.. im almost out of what im presently using and was getting ready to try something new anyway. would be great to be able to win this. thanks so much for the giveaway. good luck all. heres to great looking skin ladies:)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Strivectan. I am 60 and could use help with wrinkles. Would love to win. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have walked past the Stivectan display for years thinking it sounded too good to be true. Now to find out that it really works is quite exciting! I am 60 and, thankfully, up to just recently I had very few lines. Suddenly I am noticing fine lines that I don't want to turn into ugly wrinkles! I would love to win the giveaway. Either way, I am going to go buy some!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for new face products for my sensitive skin. Some eye creams have caffeine in them, which I am very allergic to. I will turn 60 this year (can't believe it) and would love to look as young on the outside as I feel on the inside. Will have to give Strivectan a try.
ReplyDelete50?!? You sold me!! You look no older than 35! thank you for the chance to try Stri Vectin!
ReplyDeleteI read that NIA-114 helps niacin get into your skin, and that niacin repairs skin damage and helps to rebuild skin layers. That sounds wonderful!

First of all, I would have a hard time believing you are 50! Your skin looks amazing and your great skincare routine has paid off! Since I started using moisturizer and sunscreen at a young age as well, hopefully I will reap some of those same benefits!
ReplyDeleteI used StriVectin but had to stop during this pregnancy because my skin has become super sensitive and dry. I guess my skin became sensitive to some of the fabulous wrinkle fighting power StriVectin contains! I will be excited to start using it again to get rid of the discoloration on my face that I am blaming on my pregnancy. Oh yeah, and get back to fighting any wrinkles that may be creeping around any corners! I am 40 so that is a big concern! sonyadmorris@gmail.com
