My Skincare Tips & a Giveaway!

People are often shocked when I tell them my age. Nobody ever guesses that I'm 50; they usually guess I'm in my 30s. And then they always ask, "What do you do?!"

This happens a lot at conferences especially... and for awhile now I've been thinking that I should write a few posts about my health and beauty routine. StriVectin asked me to be a part of their "Celebrate Healthy Skin" campaign, and I was happy to take part in it since I use their products anyway.

I have to admit I started taking care of my skin at a young age. When I was 11 years old, I decided it was time to take my skincare seriously. I remember asking my mother to order some skincare products that I found in a magazine. They shipped out monthly, and I used my allowance to pay for them. Now mind you, these were not for acne; they were moisturizers, moisturizing masks and such.  I was a strange kid, I know! While the other girls my age were playing with makeup, I was all about the skincare!

As a teenager I started using sunscreen on my face when I would tan. I actually started doing this because my body would tan, but my face would always burn and I didn't like the look of having a red face... it just didn't seem like an attractive look. At some point in my late 20s I realized the importance of applying sunscreen to my face every day, under my makeup. I still do that to this day and I think it's hugely important for anti-aging.

I've tried many different brands of skincare products over the years, all sorts of various moisturizers and serums, day creams and night creams, lotions and potions, etc. Last summer I discovered StriVectin's line of products, including Strivectin-SD™ Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles. Only StriVectin formulas have a patented, clinically-proven NIA-114 molecule that powers up skin to help repair damage and fight off all visible signs of aging for a youthful look and feel. It's become a part of my everyday skin care routine and I'm hooked on this stuff! (Interested? Learn more about StriVectin on their website.)

I have very sensitive skin, particularly on my face, so I always patch test new products before trying them full on. It passed with flying colors! I have to say that I've never thought to try this for stretch marks, so I can't comment on that, but I'm really pleased with it as an anti-wrinkle product! This cream makes my skin feel so smooth and well... plumper to the touch, as if a little moisture has been pumped back into my cells! I also have noticed a minimizing of the lines on my face. Woohoo! And I feel like my skin is firmer to the touch, too.

As an added bonus the tube that it comes in is Ginormous and lasts a really long time! If I had a list of Favorite Things, like Oprah does, this would be on it!

Now for the $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway!

  9. I would love to give Stri-Vectin a try. I have been using some type of skin care since I was 19 and I also get comments on how I don't look my age.
I however have not been that happy with the products I've been using lately and am finding it hard to find some that work well without drying.

  22. I like the gentle, continual exfoliation the NIA-114 does to the skin. It's easier on the skin
for those like me with sensitive skin and who cannot use harsher chemical exfoliants. Softens lines
    and clarifies the skin.

I used StriVectin but had to stop during this pregnancy because my skin has become super sensitive and dry. I guess my skin became sensitive to some of the fabulous wrinkle fighting power StriVectin contains! I will be excited to start using it again to get rid of the discoloration on my face that I am blaming on my pregnancy. Oh yeah, and get back to fighting any wrinkles that may be creeping around any corners! I am 40 so that is a big concern! sonyadmorris@gmail.com

  136. I just turned 50 and what interests me the most is that it helps with wrinkles. I've been hearing lots about Strivectin lately and have read many praises. I'd really love to give this a try.
    Thanks so much.
