So many of us simply love thrifting and junking! You know all of those odd plates you pick up for under $1 and you are not sure what to do with them, well here is a fun idea. It's quick and easy and with the variety of images available here on The Graphics Fairy, you can create so many different styles that will fit your decor perfectly. You can make your own plate of walls.
All you need is some plates...images...scissors, exacto blade if cutting intricate images,
a craft bond or any spray adhesive of your choice, an acrylic sealer and your images.
Once you get started you will not want to stop. The possibilities are endless and anyone
can do it!
Take your images or images and lightly spray them with a clear coat acrylic.
Allow the image to try completely.
Cut you images out.
Now lightly spray the back of the image with a craft bond adhesive of your choice.
Allow to set for a few minutes...
now apply the image exactly where you want it...
and then press down...making sure that everything is adhered and completely
flat and viola you are done!
repeat...repeat...repeat! Depending on how intricate your cutting has to be
and how many dishes you want to create you should be done in less than an
hour for approximately 6 dishes and that includes clean up time.
Oh the POSSIBILITIES!!!

I'll be looking for some nice plates now to decoupage with incredibly gorgeous images. So lucky to have found Graphics Fairy. I'm always telling people about this wonderful site. Just had to print this one out so I can get going with it. Sealing the paper ahead is a great hint.

ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! Fabulous idea! I collect vintage plates and overflowing with them. Some, or rather, most have nothing in the middle and came look quite plain. This is the perfect solution!
