Here's an overall shot of my family room. To make room for the tree, I moved the white slip covered chair that had been in that corner, to the Living Room which worked out perfectly for both spaces.
You may recall that this was the Flocked Christmas Tree of my dreams! I finally found one at an affordable price, at Walmart! Yay! I couldn't be more thrilled with it. It was one third of the price of the ones that I've seen in years past. You can find the exact tree HERE. It was pre-lit, also a first for me, and it felt like such a luxury not having to spend all afternoon assembling the tree and putting on the lights, the way we usually do. So much faster and easier!
This is our TV cabinet, it's an Antique Chestnut Wardrobe. I love the detail on the doors and the rich color of the wood.
Here's my mantel. I replaced the huge clock that normally sits on top of it, with this antique etched glass mirror. It has a beautiful intricate design on all 4 corners and the perfect patina.
I went with an all silver theme here.
Here you can really see the detail of the mirror! The Mercury Glass Pedestal Bowl was a project that I did, it was originally clear. You can find the tutorial HERE. The votives were from TJ Maxx. We finally just got a TJ Maxx here, and I have been spending way too much time there already!
I got the beautiful Wreath at The Design House at Lucketts. So pretty!
I've collected these Religious statues for some time now. They stay here year round actually, but have special meaning this time of year.
My Vintage Trophy collection was treated to some fresh Cypress Greens from our yard. Such a simple thing to do, to add a little festive touch.
This wreath also came from the Design House. I keep moving it around, you may have noticed it on the wardrobe above, I may move it again yet! It's nice to have a few things like this, that can go in any little spot that needs a little holiday spirit!
I think I picked this kissing ball up at Michael's, I may try my hand at making a fresh one next year. It's displayed on one of my favorite gardening books, I often share graphics from this book on my main blog at The Graphics Fairy.
I made most of the decorations for my tree this year, and I had a blast doing it! You can find the Tutorials here:
1) Angel Tree Topper
2) Painted Snowflake Burlap Garland
3) Glittered Frame Ornaments
And, although you can't see them in the photo of the tree above, I also have a tutorial for these Painted Lace Glass Ornaments, that you can find HERE. Well, that's pretty much it for the break down of this room! I'll be sharing more details of the other rooms soon, and I have a few more projects to share this week too!

DeleteOh, how I love all of the white! Especially this time of the year! I adored snow-flocked trees as a young girl. My brother and I use to beg for one every year. Not so much anymore, but if I had a room such as yours, I would definitely go for the snow-flocked tree!!! Love your homemade decorations and the burlap ... *sigh* ... LOVE it!

DeleteIts all just amazing. Love all the white, and the antique TV cabinet mixed in with its wonderful brown patina. I have been considering painting a large antique china cabinet, when I redo my dining room, now I feel like I can keep its original finish!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pollyanna! I feel like the dark wood pieces really anchor the room. Also, I like to keep a balance of masculine and feminine pieces, so that everyone in the family feels comfortable in the space.
