DIY Tutorial - Make Some Moss Orbs

I made a couple of these Moss Orbs for my Dining Room, to go with the Moss Reindeer that you see in the photo above (purchased from Target). These orbs are so easy to make it almost seems silly to post a Tutorial on them, however I did use some unconventional materials here, that you might find interesting!

Obviously I used some Sheet Moss, I used the Super Moss that I got at ConsumerCrafts.com. But that's not the unconventional part ....

.... this is! Instead of using Styrofoam as the base, I used 2 kids bouncy balls! Why you ask? Well for one, I'm not super fond of Styrofoam as a material, although I have used it if I can't find anything to replace it with. And two, when I priced large styrofoam balls they were $18.00 a piece at my craft store. Yikes! Then I found these kids bouncy balls for only $1.50 a piece at my local discount store! Much better! But even better yet... if you have kids, then you might have some old bouncy balls that your kids aren't using, just lying around that you could re purpose for this project.

 All I did was hot glue the Sheet Moss to the ball, using the low setting on my glue gun. I left a little opening around the hole, so that I can pump them back up if I need to!

 I worked my way around the ball, until the whole thing was covered, filling in any holes with small bits of moss.

And here they are in some Antique Champagne Buckets! A nice touch of greenery for my Dining Room!
