Lucketts Design House - August 2012 - Sneak Peek

I'm starting a new monthly feature here on my DIY Blog! Each month I'll be photographing The Design House at Old Lucketts Store, prior to the event weekends, so that you can get a sneak peek of the gorgeous rooms and displays. So much inspiration here! Every month the rooms are repainted and totally transformed! They recently opened an Online Store too, so even if your not local to the Virginia/DC area and can't shop in person, you can still shop some of the accessories online!

I love the neutral palette and charcoal walls in this front room on the first floor!

Mixed in with the gorgeous decor, you can be sure you'll find quirky touches here and there like the foot in this photo....

or this Canvas piece with the diving people found in the decorated Office!

The Kitchen wasn't quite finished yet, so I can't show you the whole room. But I loved this Big Kensington Clock! This one is available online.

These Patchwork Curtains were super cute too!

I loved the Lake Sign, I think it's a great look, even if you don't live near a lake!

Some nice aqua touches here, in this room upstairs, and this Airplane Canvas is too fab! Also, check out the floors that have been sanded to perfection!

This is one of my favorite rooms. It's an old sleeping porch upstairs, that's been opened up, to what was probably once a bedroom. The windows are so pretty up here and girls do such a great job styling it. I adore those striped Wingback chairs!

The colors in this dreamy modern canvas are just right with the Terra Cotta accessories and rusty aqua birdcages.

These plates are decorated with all sorts of Natural History graphics on them, I was particularly smitten with this one with the Bee on it!

Such a lovely room! This is another one of the bedrooms upstairs.

I don't know if you saw it in the photo above, but this Iron Paris Sign was cleverly tucked next to the window. Love!

This Lyre Vase has it all in my book. It's functional, classically shaped, and has the dreamiest patina!

This awesome storage piece is in one of the upstairs rooms as well, but it would be great in a kitchen too I think.

This Rustic Wall Shelf caught my eye immediately. I have to admit... I have a slight obsession with cubbies!

This big beautiful Gold Sunburst Mirror really makes a statement!

More quirkiness in the yard. These giant bust statues are just too fun!
The next Design House event is this weekend August 3-5, just outside of Leesburg, Va. You can find more info and photos HERE.

  4. I saved this post to read this morning while I enjoyed my 2nd cup of tea... I knew it would be worth the self-imposed wait! Thanks for the tour of the design house's latest look... I think my favorite room is the "sleeping porch" - I just love the idea of that room back in the "olden" days! Glad to know there's an online shop, until I'm lucky enough to make it down there someday!

  5. I absolutely love these pictures, beautifully done rooms, and the colour has inspired me to paint my family room charcoal, because I have french accents in there. Thank you for inspiring me. So excited I can't wait to get started with the painting.
    Thank you.
