Mason Jar Wedding Place Cards & Table Numbers

Hello all Graphics Fairy readers!  I am Angie with The Country Chic Cottage.  I am going to show you a variety of things to do with the amazing mason jar graphic.  Each project can be easily made with card stock and your printer.  I even mocked up some sheets just for your printer in the correct size.  First up, if you are planning a wedding, why not make your own place cards and table numbers?

The simple mason jar adds a rustic touch to your wedding reception.  I printed mine on white card stock.

The place cards are made by printing off these sheets.  They print on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of card stock.  Cut on the lines then fold in the middle.

Then just write on the names of your guests.  Such a simple project for your wedding reception.  Plus for the cost of card stock and ink, you can have customized place cards.

For the table numbers, print the following size mason jars on 8 1/2 by 11 inch card stock.  Cut around each one and punch a hole in the top.

I used grey ink and some stamps to stamp on the table number.  Then I threaded with jute twine to hang.  If your hand writing is better than mine, you can just write on your number.  This is an extremely affordable alternative for your reception tables.

Add these elements to your wedding reception for a country farmhouse feel.  DIY wedding reception decor for brides on a budget.

Not planning a wedding?  I have some mason jar fun for you as well.  I made a printable sheet with various size mason jar graphics for different sized tags.  Print these on 8 1/2 by 11 inch white card stock, cut out, and add a hole in the top.  They can then be strung with twine or ribbon to use around your home.

Tags that you can use all around your home for all types of organization.

This tag is the medium size version.  Perfect for tagging the items in your office or kitchen pantry.

Need another idea?  Take the largest version and add to a jar or food gift.  Perfect to give to the special person in your life.

What would you tag with these printable mason jar tags?  Start printing yours now.
Thank y'all for having me today.  Come visit the cottage anytime!

graphic lampshade DIY

how to make a printed lampshade.jpg
Looking at graphics day in and day out, it’s hard to step back and see things in a different manner – but this week’s project helped me do that. Since I needed a lampshade for a thrift store lamp, I knew I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but I did want it to look expensive. Instead of going to an upscale shop, I went to my local Walmart and found just what I needed. Let’s make it a little better, though, m’kay?

To do this project, you will need:

print out  (For this project, I used the octopus image)

IMG_6609 This is so easy, don’t ya love that kind? First you take the print and tape it inside of the shade where you want it to be.

IMG_6613 Then put it on the lamp, with a bulb installed, turn it on, and you'll see the print shining through.

Then just trace along the outline of the graphic – we’re going for an outline, not the whole object. To make sure that it won’t bleed, test a spot on the shade with the marker to check it.

After you’ve traced all the lines, take the paper off and you’re done!

IMG_6619 A custom shade for a fraction of the price – ooohhh yeah!

See ya next week with another project!

My House - The Dining Room

Gina and I are at Snap Conference this week, so no time to post a project or printable this week. Instead I thought I would share a few photos of my Dining Room with you, this is my favorite room in my house!

The Antique print hanging on the wall, used to hang in my Grandparents house, it's supposed to be Cinderella, but many people have thought it was a painting of me, including my own kids when they were little!

A few things that I've picked up over the years, I love old Clocks, and Concrete Garden Statues and I adore Italian Tole pieces too!

The Chandelier and Chairs are new. The China Cabinet is another family piece and I purchased the carved wooden Dining Table for just $60!!

Just a few old books from my collection, my friends Amy and Lisa set the table, didn't they do a lovely job?!

The beautiful gold Pier Mirror is another piece from my Grandparents home. I love how grand it is! The Angel Wing is new, but it has a great look to it. I have Angel Wings all over my house actually and I collect Antique Religious art as well. I hope you enjoyed touring my Dining Room today!

How to make: graphic print pillow

pom pom fringe When I want to make something quick and cute to update my space, pillows are always my go-to project. Fast, easy and inexpensive – they’re the perfect little something to breath new life into a room. This week I’m sharing how to make a graphic print pillow – with a little pom pom fringe to kick up the cuteness!
Let’s start with getting the graphic on the fabric. First I ran a print through my computer, which I learned from Gail at My Repurposed Life. She shares a great tutorial on how to print directly on fabric. I printed mine on muslin, which takes the ink very, very well. If you can’t find the sheets Gail mentions, you can also use regular cardstock sprayed with a little low tack adhesive – it works fabulously.
IMG_6211 Many of you may not have water proof ink in your printer  - if you don’t here’s a tip that I learned from Dolls and Daydreams: After you print the fabric, take it off the backing and soak it in a vinegar bath. The vinegar will set the ink making it waterproof! Let it soak in plain white vinegar for 10 minutes and then let it dry. The vinegar smell should dissipate as it dries – but if the smell still lingers then spray it with Febreze to take away the rest of the smell.
IMG_6212 Once your print is dry, carefully trim out around it with 1/2 inch or so around the graphic. I used the wire birdcage – but any print will work.
IMG_6215 Next, place the graphic on the right side of your pillow front and stitch around the edge of the image to secure it to the pillow. The machine will slightly fray the graphic a bit, adding a vintage touch.
IMG_6219 Then add on your pom-pom fringe (which I’m sharing on my blog today!), install a zipper, fill it with your insert and you’re done!
IMG_6230 Cute, quick and graphic to boot! You could also do this project over script fabric – wouldn’t that be gorgeous!
See ya next week for another DIY idea!
