*A note about downloading, installing & using fonts:  There are a lot of sites out there that offer free fonts.  Some are set up mostly to display ads, and others take you to suspicious files & links.  Even some legitimate sites run confusing ads that feature images that say "download", when it's for another product.  While we don't recommend one free font website over another, we have tried to link to the more straightforward sites to make finding the font easier for you.  If you click on anything that looks like an application or .exe file, stop, it's not what you want, and is probably malware.  Don't forget to follow the site's specific directions to download and install the font.  If you are a crafter and will be selling your work, please be sure to read any files or information that comes with the font.  Some fonts have restrictions on the commercial use of a font for mass production quantities and on the sharing / redistribution of the font file itself.

Plant a Garden Flower Pot - My Favorite Combo

Plant a Garden Flower Pot - My Favorite Combo
Today I'm sharing with you my favorite flower pot combination! It's my "go to" combo, when I want a little color on my patio. I have 3 of these vintage concrete planters in my back yard, the last couple of years I just did straight Petunias, but I'm back to my old favorite again this year!

This is how my urn looked before... full of weeds!! Not really the look I wanted to show my house guest, Funky Junk Donna, during her stay here last week. So I sprang into action a couple days before she got here.

Thankfully it only takes a few minutes to put these together. These were the plants that I used:
1) Red Geraniums
2) Blue Lobelia
3) Silver Helichrysum
I was able to pick all of these up at Lowes in the Garden Center. I love that place, but it can be dangerous, it's really hard to resist all the beautiful plants!! I ended up buying hanging planters of the Geraniums and Lobelia, they had multiple plants in them, and I just separated them out and used what I needed.

After pulling out the weeds, I planted the Geraniums first. I just used the soil that came with the plant. There was already quite a bit of decent quality soil in the urn.

Then I added the Lobelia and the Helichrysum, I kept them close to the sides of the pot, so that they would be able to hang over the edges and soften the overall composition. I watered it well and added a bit of mulch to keep the moisture in.

Here's how it looks now, the Helichrysum will continue to grow and trail over the sides, which will make the pots even prettier!  The silvery color of the leaves is a nice contrast, to the other plants in the pot. Do you have a favorite flower combination that you use in your posts? I would love to hear about it,  maybe I can get some ideas from you guys for next year!

DIY A Painted French Bee Server w/ Cynthia - A Button Tufted Life

Hi, my name is Cynthia, my husband and I run a custom interiors business together from our home studio and share our projects and musings on our blog A Button Tufted Life...
I am a huge fan of Karen's beautiful graphics so having a project featured on the DIY Graphics Fairy site is fantastic!

PENTAX Image

We love antiques and actually designed and built a home a few years ago around a salvaged antique door so incorporating and reworking old pieces is a real passion for us.
For this project we started with an antique hutch.

Easy Graphic Baby Onesie

Little ones are so adorable to dress, right down to the basic onesie. But why buy the expensive embellished ones or just leave them plain white, when you can spiffy them up all on your own? Today's project is super simple, takes only a few supplies, and can help make your baby the cutest on the block! Don't have any little ones of your own? You can apply this technique to basically any fabric medium, from adult t-shirts to canvas tote bags.
